Accredited training:
CIEH Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene
Introduction
This is the first level of a range of courses accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). It teaches the importance of basic food hygiene and helps employers to meet training requirements for their employees under the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations.
Suitable for:
Anyone who prepares, handles, serves etc food as part of their work activities.
Course objectives
By the end of the training delegates will understand:
- How bacteria and germs exist and proliferate.
- The contribution of personal hygiene standards to food safety.
- How micro-organisms can affect human health.
- Safe standards for food delivery and storage.
- Requirements for safe food preparation and presentation.
- How to ensure effective cleaning and disinfection regimes.
- Requirements for temperature controls of different foods.

One day.
Exam Format
Multi-choice examination comprising 30 questions, which lasts for approximately 40 minutes.
