      There are around 5,000 asbestos related deaths every year. Our Asbestos Awareness Refresher online training course reminds you of the dangers of asbestos containing materials.

      The Health and Safety Executive advise:

      “There is no legal requirement to repeat an entire formal awareness refresher training course every 12 months. However, some form of refresher should be given, as necessary, to help ensure knowledge of asbestos awareness is maintained…refresher awareness could be given as e-learning or as part of other health and safety updates, rather than through a formal training course…a realistic, common-sense approach to refreshing knowledge and skills, based on judgement of individual abilities and training needs is all that is usually required.”

      If you completed an Asbestos Awareness course more than 12 months ago then we strongly recommend that you undertake a refresher course. If this training is greater than 18 months old then we recommend our full awareness course. Both courses comply to Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and L143 Code of Practice ‘Managing and Working with Asbestos’.

      In fact, anybody working in the construction /maintenance industries and who is likely to work on any building built before 1999 has a duty under law to do an Asbestos Awareness course.

      The course has one section which covers:

      • The dangers of asbestos
      • Types of asbestos
      • Where you’re likely to find it
      • The health effects of exposure
      • Legislation, risks and responsibility
      • Inadvertent exposure and what to do if you are exposed.
