NEBOSH National General Certificate qualification gives a good foundation in health and safety for managers, supervisors and staff with health and safety among their day to day responsibilities.
This qualification is widely taken as a first step towards a career in health and safety and is accepted by IOSH – the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – in meeting the academic requirements for Technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH).
We are proud of our success rate, where over 80% of people who study with us pass at their first attempt. We often achieve 100% pass rate too, and always help some of our learners achieve credit and distinction grades. Let our results be the judge of our success in teaching this course.

Anyone who wishes to acquire a formal qualification and extend their knowledge and skill in applying successful health and safety practice. This certificate is particularly useful to anyone who wants to begin a career in occupational health and safety. Many organisations are increasingly using this qualification as the competence level of specific levels of management.
By the end of the training, delegates will be able to:
Eleven days tuition on a block-release basis ( 2 x 5 days and 1 extra day before the examination date), followed by 1 day for the examination(s). In addition, students are required to complete a practical assignment at a workplace of their choice within 14 days of the examination.
Homework will be issued to delegates during the course, which will be marked by a former NEBOSH examiner to give ongoing guidance and feedback.
Units NGC1 and GC2 are each assessed by a two-hour written examination. Each written examination consists of ten ‘short-answer’ questions and one ‘long-answer’ question. All questions are compulsory. Candidate exam papers are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.
Unit NGC3 is assessed by one two-hour practical examination carried out in the candidate’s own workplace. The assessment must normally be taken within 14 days of a written examination. The practical examination is internally assessed by the programme organiser and externally moderated by NEBOSH.

The trainers work tirelessly to ensure everyone is at ease and involved in the learning process regardless of employment background. The continual support, marked homework with constructive feedback and continual guidance gave me the confidence I needed to sit the exams. I really enjoyed the well-designed course and friendly learning environment. And the site visit to the RBLI brought everything we had learnt together.
