Manual handling injuries can happen in any workplace – on building sites, in factories, offices, warehouses, shops, hospitals, schools, banks, laboratories, and while making deliveries or though repetitive working. Heavy manual labour, awkward postures, manual materials handling, and previous or existing injury, are all risk factors in developing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). It could be a very regular, or an infrequent task in a person’s day-to-day work.
Good manual handling techniques are a vital part of keeping healthy and productive.
